Cyclic methane hydrate production stimulated with CO2 and N2

چکیده

The cyclic methane hydrate production method was proposed with CO 2 and N mixture stimulation. model established based on actual reservoir parameters, accordingly, the characteristics were analyzed, a sensitivity analysis conducted. results show following: (1) depressurization mechanism is dominant in production. CH 4 dissociation can be greatly enhanced because process effectively reduce partial pressure of (gas phase). However, there limited effect for storage. (2) Heat supply essential continuous dissociation. degree highest near-wellbore area; addition, fluid porosity effective permeability are significantly improved, temperature obviously decreased. (3) initial saturation, absolute permeability, intrinsic formation kinetic constant, injection time influence performance natural gas reservoir.

Detection and Production of Methane Hydrate

We develop a relationship between the sulfate-methane transition (SMT) and average gas hydrate saturation (AGHS) for systems dominated by methane migration from deeper sources. The relationship is explained by a onedimensional numerical model that simulates gas hydrate accumulation in marine sediments. Higher methane fluxes result in shallow SMT depths and high AGHS, while lower methane fluxes ...

Methane Production from Gas Hydrate Deposits through Injection of Supercritical CO2

The recovery of natural gas from CH4-hydrate deposits in sub-marine and sub-permafrost environments through injection of CO2 is considered a suitable strategy towards emission-neutral energy production. This study shows that the injection of hot, supercritical CO2 is particularly promising. The addition of heat triggers the dissociation of CH4-hydrate while the CO2, once thermally equilibrated,...

Thermodynamic analysis of methane reforming with CO2, CO2+H2O and CO2+O2 for hydrogen and synthesis gas production

Dry reforming of methane for the production of hydrogen and syngas has attracted much attention from both industrial and environmental aspects. The major problem encountered in the application of this process is the rapid deactivation of the catalyst, which is mainly due to coke accumulation and sintering of the catalyst. As an alternative to reduce the coke formation, the combination of CO2 re...

Seismic AVO analysis of methane hydrate structures

Marine seismic data from the Blake Outer Ridge offshore Florida show strong “bottom simulating reflections” (BSR) associated with methane hydrate occurence in deep marine sediments. We use a detailed amplitude versus offset (AVO) analysis of these data to explore the validity of models which might explain the origin of the bottom simulating reflector. After careful preprocessing steps, we deter...

Pore-network study of methane hydrate dissociation.

A two-dimensional pore-network model based on invasion percolation is used to study the patterns obtained from the release of methane during the dissociation of methane hydrates (without including dissociation kinetics) caused by a sudden pressure reduction in the system below the hydrate equilibrium pressure. The concept of the critical gas saturation S(gc) (volume fraction of the gas phase at...
